Emerging Technology Awards
Honouring the founders, teams and ventures turning frontier ideas into the products that will define the next decade of technology.
The Frontier Of Innovation
Recognising the technologies arriving before the rest of the world is ready
Emerging technology lives in the gap between what is possible in a research lab and what is profitable in a marketplace. It is the spatial computing headset that has not yet found its killer application, the quantum-safe encryption layer being written years ahead of the threat, the autonomous agent stack that is quietly rewriting how software gets built. The companies working here are not iterating on a settled category — they are inventing the category itself, often with limited capital, unproven demand and a roadmap that changes every quarter.
That uncertainty is exactly why recognition matters. When a market is mature, awards confirm what customers already know. When a market is emerging, a credible award does something far more valuable: it signals to investors, enterprise buyers, talent and the press that a team has crossed the threshold from interesting experiment to investable, deployable technology. The Emerging Technology Awards exist to make that signal trustworthy — to separate genuine breakthroughs from well-funded noise.
Our programme judges ventures the way a thoughtful strategic investor or first enterprise customer would: on the originality of the technology, the evidence it actually works, the strength of the team behind it and the realism of the path to scale. Whether you are a pre-seed founder with a working prototype or a Series B company commercialising a frontier platform, this is the stage where early conviction becomes public credibility.
Categories
What We Recognise
Six dedicated honours within the Emerging Technology Awards, each tailored to a distinct stage and form of frontier innovation. ๐
Emerging Technology Company of the Year
The flagship honour for a venture whose frontier technology has moved decisively from concept to traction — demonstrating real deployments, paying customers and a credible plan to define a new market.
Emerging Product of the Year
Awarded to a single product or platform that introduces a genuinely novel capability to market, judged on technical originality, usability and the measurable problem it solves for early adopters.
Frontier Innovation Award
For the most original breakthrough of the year — a research advance, architecture or technique that expands what is technically possible, whether or not it has yet reached full commercialisation.
Emerging Technology Startup of the Year
Reserved for early-stage ventures (typically pre-seed to Series A) showing exceptional technical ambition, momentum and the rare ability to ship frontier technology with a small, focused team.
Best Emerging Platform
Honouring the infrastructure, developer platform or enabling layer that other builders are adopting to create the next wave of products — recognised for ecosystem traction and technical depth.
Excellence in Emerging Technology
A recognition of sustained excellence for an organisation or team that has repeatedly turned frontier research into deployable, responsible technology and helped legitimise an entire emerging field.
Eligibility
Who Should Enter
The Emerging Technology Awards welcome any organisation building genuinely new technology — across every stage, geography and discipline.
Deep-Tech Startups
Ventures commercialising hard science — quantum, photonics, novel materials, synthetic biology or advanced compute — with a working prototype or early deployments.
Frontier AI Builders
Teams working at the edge of autonomous agents, multimodal models, on-device intelligence or applied machine learning in underexplored domains.
Spatial & Immersive Companies
Builders of AR, VR, spatial computing, digital twins and the interfaces that will follow the smartphone era.
Decentralised & Web3 Innovators
Projects applying blockchain, decentralised infrastructure or cryptographic primitives to real, non-speculative use cases.
Hardware & Robotics Ventures
Companies shipping novel devices, sensors, robotics, space technology or connected systems that push physical engineering forward.
Corporate Innovation Labs
Internal venture studios and R&D units inside larger organisations bringing emerging technology to market under their own brand.
University Spin-Outs
Research-led teams translating academic breakthroughs into commercial ventures with intellectual property and early traction.
Climate & Frontier Impact Teams
Innovators applying emerging technology to energy, sustainability, health and other high-stakes global challenges.
Why It Matters
Benefits of Winning
Investor-Grade Validation
An independent award from a credible technology programme de-risks your story for the venture capitalists, corporate investors and strategic partners evaluating frontier bets. It is third-party proof that experts believe your technology is real.
Earned Visibility & Press
Winners gain a recognised badge, a published profile and a narrative hook that journalists, analysts and event organisers can build on — cutting through the noise of a crowded emerging-tech landscape.
Talent & Enterprise Trust
The best engineers want to join companies that are clearly winning, and enterprise buyers need reassurance before betting on an early vendor. Recognition shortens both conversations and accelerates deals.
A Global Peer Network
Join an international community of founders, judges and operators working at the technology frontier — opening doors to partnerships, pilots, advisors and follow-on investment well beyond the ceremony itself.
How We Judge
Judging Criteria
Each entry is independently scored by a panel drawn from investors, technologists, operators and analysts. We weight evidence over ambition — the question is not how exciting the idea sounds, but how convincingly the team has proven it.
- Technical Originality — how genuinely new the underlying technology is, and the defensibility of the approach.
- Proof It Works — prototypes, deployments, benchmarks, pilots or early customers that demonstrate the technology beyond a deck.
- Market & Timing — the size and readiness of the opportunity, and why now is the moment for this technology.
- Team & Execution — the strength, credibility and velocity of the people building it.
- Traction & Momentum — growth signals appropriate to stage: users, revenue, partnerships, funding or adoption.
- Responsibility & Scalability — evidence the venture can scale safely, ethically and sustainably as it grows.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
We define emerging technology as any genuinely novel capability that has not yet become a mature, settled market — including frontier AI, quantum, spatial computing, advanced robotics, decentralised systems, synthetic biology and deep-tech hardware. If your technology is creating a new category rather than improving an established one, it qualifies.
Yes. Several categories — including the Emerging Technology Startup of the Year and the Frontier Innovation Award — are designed for early-stage and pre-revenue ventures. We judge entries against expectations appropriate to your stage, so a pre-seed team is never measured against a Series B company.
Our judges look for evidence beyond the pitch: working prototypes, benchmarks, live deployments, pilot results, customer references or peer-reviewed research. The stronger and more independent your proof, the higher you score on the "Proof It Works" criterion. Confidential material can be shared securely with the panel.
Absolutely. The Emerging Technology Awards are global, with entrants and judges drawn from across our worldwide community. You can explore recognition by region — for example the Asia Technology Awards — or enter the global programme directly.
The Emerging Technology Awards focus on the technology itself — how novel and proven it is. If your story is more about company-building or founder leadership, you may also fit our Technology Startup Awards, Startup Innovation Awards or Tech Founder Awards. Many ventures enter more than one programme.
