Asia Technology Awards
Honouring the engineers, founders and platforms shaping the world's fastest-moving technology region — from Shenzhen to Bangalore, Singapore to Seoul.
The world's most dynamic technology region
No region builds, scales and ships technology at the pace of Asia. Home to a majority of the planet's population and an expanding base of digital consumers, Asia has moved from being the world's manufacturing floor to being its laboratory for product invention. The smartphone-first habits of hundreds of millions of users have forced companies to design for mobile, for low bandwidth, and for cash-light economies — and those constraints have produced some of the most original technology on earth.
The Asia Technology Awards exist to give that ingenuity the recognition it deserves. Too often, breakthrough work coming out of Asian markets is treated as a localised story rather than a global one. We take the opposite view: a payments super-app refined in Jakarta, an AI model trained in Beijing, or a logistics platform stitched together across Southeast Asia is a benchmark the rest of the world should be studying.
As part of the World Technology Awards, this regional programme applies a single, consistent standard of judging while staying attentive to the realities of Asian markets — fragmented regulation, multilingual users, and ferocious competition. Recognition here is not a participation badge; it is independent validation that your team is operating at the frontier.
Technology Ecosystem in Asia
Asia's technology strength is not concentrated in a single capital — it is distributed across a constellation of specialised hubs, each with its own character. East Asia anchors the hardware and semiconductor supply chain: Shenzhen remains the densest electronics manufacturing cluster on the planet, Taiwan and South Korea dominate advanced chip fabrication and memory, and Japan continues to lead in robotics, precision components and industrial automation. These ecosystems give Asian software companies a uniquely tight loop between code and silicon.
South and Southeast Asia have become the region's growth engine for digital services. Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune form one of the largest concentrations of software engineering talent anywhere, exporting both global IT services and a fast-maturing crop of homegrown product startups. Singapore has positioned itself as the financial and fintech command centre for the wider region, while Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines have produced a generation of consumer platforms built for mobile-first, rapidly urbanising populations. Across these markets, fintech, artificial intelligence and e-commerce are the standout growth sectors.
What ties the region together is velocity and capital. Venture funding flows freely between hubs, talent moves across borders, and a single product idea can be localised for a dozen languages and regulatory regimes within a few quarters. Cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and SaaS have all matured rapidly as enterprises across China, India and ASEAN digitise their operations. The result is an ecosystem where scale arrives quickly — and where the companies that thrive are genuinely battle-tested.

Asia Technology Awards FAQ
Organisations headquartered or operating anywhere in Asia are eligible, including China, Japan, India, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and markets across East, South and Southeast Asia. If your company builds or serves technology in the region, you can enter.
No. You can be headquartered elsewhere and still enter the regional programme provided you have meaningful operations, customers or impact within Asia. The judges focus on the work and its relevance to the region, not on where your paperwork is filed.
Choose the sector award that best matches your core product — for example AI, fintech, SaaS or cybersecurity. You can review the full list on the technology sectors and award categories pages and enter more than one category if relevant.
An independent panel assesses each submission against consistent criteria covering innovation, impact, execution and evidence of results. The same standard applies worldwide, while judges remain mindful of the specific market conditions in Asia. Full detail is on our judging process page.
